In a rather interesting pairing of music talent, the world renowned Boston Pops orchestra will team up with soft rock singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins on a ten date tour of minor league baseball stadiums in August.

Each night, for the first set, the orchestra will perform a set of baseball themed songs, followed by some classics including "Moon River" and "Over the Rainbow." The second set will feature songs by composer John Williams, including music from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and E.T. Then, to close the night Kenny Loggins will join the orchestra to perform some of his hits including "I'm Alright" and "Footloose."

The tour is set to kick off at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday, August 16. Tickets for the show will go on sale on Monday, February 28 at 10 a.m. HERE and via the Durham Bulls box office starting on Friday, March 4 at 9 a.m.

[UPDATE: The Durham show and the entire tour has been canceled according to organizers due to "current unfortunate economic climate, including corporate sponsorship that did not materialize." Translation: Tickets were not selling.]
