San Fermin announces December dates with Sam Amidon

Brooklyn orchestral pop band San Fermin released their sophomore album, Jackrabbit, earlier this year and the group has been touring hard in support of it all year. The band has just added a new round of headlining dates for this December and they'll bring singer-songwriter Sam Amidon out as support.

The pair will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Tuesday, December 15. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. today, September 18, via Ticketfly for $15.

Dave Rawlings Machine preps new album, big fall tour

The Dave Rawlings Machine, the alter ego of the duo of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings where the latter takes the lead, will release their sophomore album this Friday, September 18, titled Nashville Obsolete. They have just announced a huge fall/winter tour in support of it that will bring the group to a larger than normal Triangle venue.

The group, that also features Willie Watson and Punch Brother Paul Kowert, will play the Durham Performing Arts Center on Sunday, November 22. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 18, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $35 to $45. Fan club, venue, and Ticketmaster pre-sales begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 17.

Tori Kelly announces 'Where I Belong' 2015 fall tour

Fresh off of her breakout performance on the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night, singer-songwriter Tori Kelly has announced a new fall tour in support of her debut album Unbreakable Smile that was released a few months ago.

Kelly will play The Ritz in Raleigh on Thursday, October 29, as part of NC State's homecoming festivities. Tickets will be $10 to $25, likely $10 for NC State students and $25 for the public, but on sale dates are not yet available.

Daryl Hall & John Oates announce fall 2015 tour

Philadelphia pop soul duo Hall and Oates will be hitting the road again this fall on a short run of U.S. dates that will bring them back to the Triangle.

The group will return to the Durham Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, December 8. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 7, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster.

ODESZA announces 2015 fall tour

Seattle electronic duo ODESZA has just announced a new run of North American tour dates this fall, including a a stop in the Triangle.

The duo will play the Ritz in Raleigh on Thursday, November 5. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26, via Live Nation for $23. Pre-sales will be as early as 10 a.m. on today, June 23.

Patti LaBelle announces 2015 tour dates

Legendary soul singer Patti LaBelle will hit the road again later this year and she ill be making her third stop in Durham in the last four years.

She'll play the Durham Performing Arts Center again (she sold out the venue in 2012 and 2014) on Saturday, November 7. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. today, May 29, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $55 to $125.

The Pietasters announce 2015 summer tour dates

DC ska band The Pietasters are hitting the road this summer to play a few east coast shows and one of those stops will be in the Triangle.

The band will play Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Saturday, July 18. Corporate Fandango will open. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $14.

Aaron Neville announces fall tour, Durham show with Blind Boys of Alabama

Soul singer Aaron Neville will hit the road once again this fall and and he'll make a stop in the Triangle in October with support from the Blind Boys of Alabama.

Neville and the Blind Boys will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Friday, October 16. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 8, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $37 to $77. The web pre-sale has already started.

Tedeschi Trucks Band & Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings announce 'Wheels of Soul' summer tour

Tedeschi Trucks Band and Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings will team up this summer on the Wheels of Soul tour that will take them to amphitheaters across the U.S.

One of the stops on the tour will be at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on Saturday, July 18. Doyle Bramhall II will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 27, via the venue box office and Etix for $44.50 or $75.

Frank Fairfield announces spring 2015 tour

Old-time folk singer-songwriter Frank Fairfield will head out on tour for a few shows this spring and will return to the Triangle in April.

Fairfield will play The Pinhook in Durham on Thursday, April 23. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $10.

Shakey Graves announces summer 2015 tour dates

Texas singer-songwriter Alejandro Rose-Garcia, better known as Shakey Graves, released his second full-length album last year titled And the War Came. He already had a busy tour schedule this spring and now he has added even more dates that include a stop in the Triangle.

He will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Wednesday, June 10. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 20, via Ticketfly for $15.

Chicago & Earth, Wind & Fire announce 'Heart and Soul' summer 2015 tour

Classic rockers/funkers Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire are joining forces for the Heart and Soul co-headline tour that will take the pair to big sheds across North American this summer.

The pair will play Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh on Friday, September 4. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 13, via Live Nation for $25 to $120.

Morris Day and the Time announce spring 2015 dates

Funk soul legends Morris Day and the Time have been around and kicking since the early 80s and this year they're heading back out on the road to play a few shows across the U.S.

The group will play the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh on Saturday, May 30. Sheila E. will open. Tickets are on sale now via the Duke Energy Center box office and Ticketmaster for $23.62 to $61.09.

John Fogerty announces spring 2015 tour celebrating 1969

Singer-songwriter John Fogerty is heading out on the road this spring on a special tour celebrating the three albums of music his legendary band Creedence Clearwater Revival recorded and release in 1969, Bayou Country, Green River and Willy and the Poor Boys.

The tour will make a stop at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh on Tuesday, May 5. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, via the Duke Energy Center box office and Ticketmaster for $27.50 to $75. Pre-sales will begin as early as Wednesday, March 4.

Alabama Shakes announce 'Sound & Color' 2015 tour

Fresh off a performance on Saturday Night Live this past weekend promoting their forthcoming sophomore album Sound and Color, southern rockers Alabama Shakes have extended their 2015 tour plans and will return to Cary this June.

The band will once again play the Koka Booth Amphitheatre on Wednesday, June 10. Courtney Barnett will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 6, via Etix for $35 to $45.

Water Liars announce spring 2015 tour, coming to Raleigh

Mississippi rockers Water Liars released their self-titled album (check out a review of the album HERE) last year and the band are about to head out on a new spring tour in support of it that will take them down to the South By Southwest music conference in Austin in March but the next but they'll head north and make a stop in the Triangle.

The band will play Neptune's in Raleigh on Tuesday, April 28. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $7.

Lake Street Dive announces 2015 tour, coming to Raleigh

Boston based jazz pop group Lake Street Dive are continuing to tour in 2015 in support of the breakthrough album Bad Self Portraits an they will return to the Triangle this spring for another big show.

The band will kick off the North Carolina Museum of Art's summer concert series in Raleigh on Saturday, May 23. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, via Etix for $20 (general admission) or $30 (reserved). A presale will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 27.

The Psychedelic Furs announce spring 2015 tour

English rockers The Psychedelic Furs haven't released a new studio album since 1991's World Outside but the band have continued touring regularly and will hit the road again this spring.

The band will play the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh on Sunday, May 24. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $25.

Pat Benatar announces 2015 tour, coming to Durham

Rocking singer-songwriter Pat Benatar will hit the road this year with her long-time musical partner and husband Neil Giraldo and she'll return to the Triangle for a headlining show.

The pair will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Wednesday, July 1. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 20, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $40 to $110.

Video: Rhiannon Giddens performs "Waterboy" on Letterman

Rhiannon Giddens released her new solo album on Tuesday titled Tomorrow Is My Turn and she stopped by the Ed Sullivan Theater that night to celebrate its release on the Late Show with David Letterman.

Giddens performed traditional folk song "Waterboy" from the album on the show. Check out the performance below where she is backed by her current Carolina Chocolate Drops band members as well as additional musicians.
