Pretty Lights announces spring tour, coming to Raleigh

Derek Vincent Smith, better known by his moniker Pretty Lights, has come a long way in a last few years. In early 2009, he played The Pour House, then later that year and in early 2010, he moved up to the Cat's Cradle and Lincoln Theatre. In 2011, he's made a leap.

On his upcoming spring tour, Pretty Lights will perform at the Raleigh Amphitheater on Tuesday, April 19, making this show the first of the venue's second season. Michael Menert and Paper Diamond will open the show. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, February 18 at 10 a.m. via at the Progress Energy Center box office and Ticketmaster.

Pretty Lights just released a series of free, previously unreleased tracks via his website which includes remixes of Kanye West, Pink Floyd, Jay-Z, Steve Miller Band and more. Head HERE to download.

Pretty Lights is part of a surging electronic, dance, remix movement going on right now. Girl Talk was just at Disco Rodeo in Raleigh in January playing a sold out show and now Pretty Lights is playing an amphitheater. Not too shabby.
