Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue announces fall dates, coming to Carrboro

Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue are busy spreading their updated take on New Orleans jazz and funk across the world this year and are planning to stay busy into 2012. By the time they come to the Triangle, they'll have released a new album, For True, due out on September 13.

The band will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Sunday, November 6. Tickets will go on sale soon via etix for $20.

Even if you're not familiar with Trombone Shorty, you may recognize him from an appearance on the short-lived Aaron Sorkin television show Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, where he appropriately played a New Orleans jazz musician. Check out him leading the band in "Oh Holy Night" below.
