Local quintet The Light Pines, who will be sharing a stage with The Flaming Lips and Superchunk in September, have just unleashed a lot of free music on the world.
The 20-song album titled Into the Night is currently available to download (high quality 320 kbps mp3s) or stream for free via the band's BandCamp page. The songs display songwriter Josh Pope's keen eye for catchy hooks and sweet, lo-fi sounds.
As for the previously mentioned gig, The Light Pines will play the City Plaza stage at the Hopscotch Music Festival in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, September 10. They'll get things started and will be followed by Superchunk and The Flaming Lips. Tickets for the festival are available HERE.
