Violet Vector calling it a day with one last show

Of course the joy of yesterday's Hopscotch Music Festival announcement would be countered by some unrelated bad news. One of my favorite local bands, and certainly yours too, Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies will be calling it a day after one last show at Local 506 on Saturday, April 24 with The Huguenots.

The split between the band is amicable. Frontwoman and songwriter Amanda Lindsey is planning to pursue music more seriously and really go for it. Other band members are unable tour and really pursue the band full time, so Amanda is going to strike out on her own. What form that will take is, as of now, unknown. I can't wait to hear what new music will emerge and we'll certainly keep you posted on that.

So come out to Local 506 and have a blast one last time. The band never disappoints and with this being their last show, I'd expect the energy to be through the roof. And it's only $6. You can't beat that. Advance tickets are available via etix. We'll see you there.

Check out some photos from past Violet Vector shows here (from Tir Na Nog in November 2009), here (from Planet Earth Celebration in April 2009), here (from Local 506 in October 2008) and here (from Art on the Edge Festival in August 2008).
