CRUISR announce fall 2015 tour, return to Chapel Hill

Philadelphia indie pop band CRUISR has been busy touring the country building a name for themselves across the U.S. The band will hit the road this fall supporting Misterwives on tour, but on a day off during the tour they'll play a headlining show in the Triangle.

The band will return to Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Wednesday, September 30. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $10.

Benji Hughes signs to Merge Records, new music out this fall

Charlotte singer-songwriter Benji Hughes has just become the newest artist to join the Merge Records family and he'll have new music out on the label this fall.

Hughes will release two new 7-inches on October 9. The first is "Freaky Feedback Blues" with the b-side "Jazz x 10" and the other is "Shark Attack" with the b-side "Mama, I'm a Zombie." He will release a new full-length album on Merge early next year.

Hughes will play Local 506 tonight, August 7. Tickets are $10 in advance via Ticketfly.

CRUISR announces spring 2015 tour

Up and coming Philadelphia indie pop band CRUISR is hitting the road this spring in support of their new EP Go For It and they'll make a stop in the Triangle in a few weeks.

The band will play Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Saturday, May 16. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $8.

Hundred Waters announces 2015 tour, coming to Chapel Hill

Florida indie rockers Hundred Waters will hit the road again in early 2015 in support of their latest album The Moon Rang Like a Bell (check out our review HERE) and the dates will bring them back to the Triangle.

The band will play Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Saturday, March 7. Tickets will go on sale at noon today, November 21, via Ticketfly for $10.

The Old Ceremony to ring in new year in Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill rock club Local 506 has been teasing their big New Year's Eve show on their website for a few weeks tell folks to wait for the big announcement. Now we know that local favorites The Old Ceremony will be ringing in 2015 at the club on Wednesday, December 31, with Skylar Gudasz.

Tickets for the big show will go on sale at noon on Thursday, November 14, via Ticketfly for $15.

As we first told you about almost a year ago, The Avett Brothers will be hosting their own big New Year's Eve shindig at the PNC Arena in Raleigh. We'll bring you a comprehensive list of New Year's Eve happenings in the Triangle in the coming weeks.

Generationals extend fall tour, coming to Chapel Hill

Indie rocker Generationals just released their fourth full-length album this week titled Alix and the band has just extended their fall tour plans into December when they'll make a stop in the Triangle.

The band will return to Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, December 2. Lowell will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 19, via Ticketfly for $10.

Steve Poltz announces fall tour, coming to Chapel Hill

Singer-songwriter Steve Poltz, best known for co-writing some of Jewel's early songs including the hit "You Were Meant for Me," released a new album earlier this year titled The Accident and he is hitting the road this fall on a big North American tour in support of it.

Poltz will play Local 506 in Chapel hill on Sunday, October 26. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $12.

Saintseneca announces fall tour, coming to Chapel Hill

Up and coming Ohio indie folk band Saintseneca released their Anti- Records released sophomore album Dark Arc earlier this year and the band are hitting the road on a big fall tour in support of it.

Meat Puppets & Cass McCombs announce fall co-headline tour

Veteran rockers Meat Puppets are teaming up with singer-songwriter Cass McCombs for a fall co-headline tour that will take the bands across the country.

Ages and Ages announce fall tour, coming to Chapel Hill

Portland rockers Ages and Ages released their sophomore album Divisionary earlier this year and they have just announced a new fall tour in support of it.

Hundred Waters and GEMS bring down the house at Local 506

The crowd at Local 506 was treated to a sonic and visual experience like no other Wednesday night. GEMS and Hundred waters, playing their final show on tour together, brought down the house.

Opener GEMS started the show off right with their distinctive brand of spacey, electric pop. A duo with a more reserved stage presence, the band played loud and wowed the crowd with their raw talent. Lead singer Lindsay Pitts moved flawlessly from high to low notes while partner Clifford John Usher complemented her beautifully on the guitar and keyboard.

J Mascis announces new album, big fall tour

Singer-songwriter and Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis will release a new album this summer via Sub Pop titled Tied to a Star. The album will be released on August 26 and then Mascis will hit the road on a big U.S. tour in the fall.

He'll play Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Saturday, September 27. Tickets will go on sale at noon on Friday, June 13, via Ticketfly for $20.

Islands announce fall tour, coming to Chapel Hill

Canadian indie rockers Islands released their fifth studio album last fall titled Ski Mask and the band is gearing up for a tour this fall in support of it.

Woods release new album, announce new single & summer tour

New York indie rockers Woods just released a new album in April titled With Light and With Love and have already planned to release a new 7" single on July 8 titled "Tambourine Light." The band will hit the road on a summer tour that will bring them to the Triangle.

Woods will play Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Saturday, August 23. Ticket information is not available yet but we'll let you know when it is.

DIIV announces summer tour, coming to Chapel Hill

New York psychedelic rockers DIIV are heading out on a short summer tour in July to work out some new songs before heading back to the studio to complete their sophomore album, the follow-up to 2012's Oshin.

The tour will stop at Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Thursday, July 24. LODRO and Regal Degal will open. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $12.

Eagulls brave a rogue frog to rock Chapel Hill

British post-punk group Eagulls made a stop in Chapel Hill last night while touring for their first full-length release, the self-titled Eagulls. Although the crowd was sparse and unenthusiastic, the band was able to pick up the slack from the audience and use their raw power to still have a great performance.

The five-piece band, consisting of two guitarists, a bassist, singer and drummer, produced such a loud and powerful sound that they could have rocked out a much larger venue.

Kopecky Family Band announces spring/summer tour

Nashville indie rockers Kopecky Family Band are heading back out of the road this spring and summer after spending time earlier this year in the studio working on the follow-up to their debut album Kids Raising Kids (check out our review of the album HERE).

Titus Andronicus announces spring tour, coming Chapel Hill

New Jersey rockers Titus Andronicus have reportedly been working on a 33-song rock opera-esque album about manic depression that is expected out in the fall but in the meantime the band will hit the road for a few shows in the spring that will include a stop in the Triangle.

The band will play Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, May 20. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $12.

Howler releasing new album, announces spring tour

After releasing their highly acclaimed debut album America Give Up in 2012, Minnesota indie rockers Howler are back with their sophomore album World of Joy that will hit stores on March 25. After touring Europe where they've built quite a following, the band will return to the North American for a spring tour.

The band will play Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Wednesday, May 7. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. today, March 21, via Ticketfly for $8.

EMA announces spring tour, coming to Chapel Hill

Up and coming indie singer-songwriter Erika M. Anderson, better known as EMA, will release a new album on April 8 titled The Future's Void and she'll hit the road on a big North American tour this spring ins support of it.

She'll make a stop at Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Sunday, April 27. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $12.
