Fans pack Schoolkids for Love Language in-store

All photos by Kevin Norris
Saturday afternoon brought local superstars The Love Language to Schoolkids Records in Raleigh for a free in-store performance in support of their sophomore album Libraries.

The band decorated the small stage with a few lamps and the store lights were cut off to create an intimate environment, even in the brightness of the afternoon.

The stripped down set-up did not keep the band from tackling some of the denser songs from their latest album, including fielding a view requests for the songs "Pedals" and "This Blood Is Our Own." Early in the set, the band payed tribute to local band Gross Ghost by covering the song "Lurker."

The band closed the short set with the brilliant pop tune "Heart To Tell," then stuck around to talk to fans and sign some autographs outside the store. This is a band on the rise and the fervency of the fans at the in-store showed that (well, so did the sold Cradle show in July. See photos and a review here).
