The Tubes added to Downtown Live schedule

Here's a new one for Downtown Live. By new, I mean an odd musical choice, because they're still an old band. 1970s band The Tubes will play Moore Square on June 27. If you're scratching your head, you're not alone. I had to look them up and their biggest song, "She's a Beauty," sounds vaguely familiar.

So that leaves only one more spot to fill in the Downtown Live schedule on August 22. We'll let you know when that has been filled and when they announce any non-headlining acts for the free series. Check out the schedule as it stands below.

[UPDATE: Green River Ordinance will play the August 8 show with Tonic according to Pollstar.]

Downtown Live 2009 schedule:
05.30.09 - Candlebox
06.13.09 - Filter
06.27.09 - The Tubes
07.11.09 - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts
07.25.09 - The Charlie Daniels Band
08.08.09 - Tonic w/ Green River Ordinance
08.22.09 - TBA

yeah, I had to look them up myself ... I guess we're the wrong generation :-)

Some of their stuff on YouTube is pretty crazy. Weird kinda Kiss meets Bowie glam schtik.
