The Beatles music you have on CD or on your iPod is officially inferior — the Fab Four's entire catalogue will be re-released in its digitally remastered form on CD on Sept. 9, 2009, Apple Corps. Ltd. and EMI Records announced this morning.
Note they said on CD — not for download — though fingers crossed that a similar announcement will come between now and the fall.
Remastered albums include The Beatles' 12 studio albums, "Magical Mystery Tour," Past Masters Vol. I and II" and will feature the original UK album art, original liner notes, as well as new liner notes.
This is the same day that The Beatles: Rock Band will be released to the masses, as well as two Beatles box sets — one with all 14 CDs and a DVD documentary collection, the other with 10 albums of original mono mixes with two CDs of mono masters.
