U2 at Raleigh's Carter Finley Stadium set list + videos

We didn't shell out the cash to go U2's show at Carter Finley Stadium tonight, but we've been following the happenings online and even parked across the way for a bit and heard "One," "Where the Streets Have No Name" and "Ultraviolet (Light My Way)" and "With or Without You." They all sounded massive.

Check out the set list below thanks to U2News. We'll scour the net for some quality videos and add them to the post once they hit YouTube and the like. Follow us on Twitter or check back later for updates.

[UPDATE: Added video of "One" after the break.]
[UPDATE: Added videos of "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "In a Little While," "Where the Streets Have No Name," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Uprising" by opening act Muse.]
[UPDATE: Check out David Menconi's review for some insane comments on the traffic and parking situation.]

Do you know if the U2 show sellout yesterday? I think the capacity was 64,000.

It was quite a bookend: watching U2 as one of the opening bands in Kenan Stadium to a thin, wet crowd in 1983 and then last night in a packed Carter-Finley with thousands hanging on to every word of Bono under the 'spaceship'. One common thread--Bono did and does still know how to engage a crowd in that larger than life way he can carry himself. After the '83 concert I knew that band was going somewhere...just didn't know at the time quite where the spaceship was going to take them.

Ted - "I only wish I could have heard it with a few people around me who actually liked U2" - next time, skip the $250 tickets and go down on the floor where the real fans are - my $55 ticket got be inside the runway, 10 feet from the stage.

The comments on traffic and parking are based on a really bad traffic situation, but anyone with ANY knowledge of Carter Finley / RBC parking for ANY big event, would have eithe rplnned to get there at 5 or parked somewhere else and walked in. We left the house at 6:15, parked at the Art Museum, walked and were in our seats for MUSE's second song.

No problem.

MUSE, by the way, were outstanding.

And "massive" is the right way to describe U2's show. It was outstanding and HUGE. Amazingly, though, the sound was perfectly balanced. Best large stadium show I have ever been to. One of the best shows period.

there was plenty of enthusiasm among us geezers in section 24. We were kind of stuck behind one of the claws, but the show rocked anway. We spent more than $55 (lucky ba____d) and much less than $250.

I was about 15 rows off the field right beside the stage.

To comment further on the GA experience on the floor: My wife and I took our 6 and 8 year old children and were 20 feet off of the front of the stage. While there was alcohol present, I was impressed by how much everyone went out of there way to watch out for our kids and how many mentioned the wished they had brought their own to experience it with them. The concert was phenomenal, but to be able to share it with my kids made it even more meaningful. If you haven't experienced a U2 concert down in GA, then you are missing half of the experience.

little secret kids... Bono has not been able to sing since serious voice problems in the late eighties;) Still Bono singing not well is better than most popular alleged talent these days. Just listen to the horrid vocals in every one of these vids. You people payed a bunch of $ for a vague shadow of the past -done poorly- right before your eyes. PT Barnum was right

Hi Wells you misunderstand me. I mention specifically "popular" music today as opposed to all music today. I can appreciate honesty and talent. Went to Great Lake Swimmers and will be at Andrew Bird, legitimately good acts. When I made the observation about Bono's voice this was being realistic. Just listen to it. Doesn't take a cynic to hear shot chords. Oh & get off my shlong. It just makes you look like a fool... an Andrew Wilde quoting (albeit out of context) fool.

my point is this. The vocal component of any U2 performance today will be sorely lacking. Maybe they should go the Steely Dan route and stick to the studio. However, they sure do have a "big production" don't they? Whirling cams, flashing lights, giant screens that perhaps just coincidentally showed up about the time their wildly popular singer's voice went bye bye. Case study in "what's a band to do?"... you decide. In my opinion it smacks of smoke and mirrors there I said it. Still haven't found what you're looking for? The problem may in fact be that you have no idea what you are looking at... and paying for... and whining about.

Yeah I typed "Andrew" where I should have typed "Oscar" above. Bird on my mind:) Great artist & I'm looking forward to EXCELLENT SOUNDING live show. If you forget all else remember to feed your artists!

I don't come across as bitter. You don't feel badly for me and you aren't sad or sorry. You know nothing about me. Your last comments are insincere. Whats proven through our exchange is that I have given people something to think about while you have engaged in a cheap ad hominem approach to dialogue. Had you approached the discussion in a "naah naah naah" elementary school yard way you would have sounded more intelligent and less phony. Thus ends this portion of the thread.

Were you at the show? Have you been to one on their 360 tour? Or do you just like to rabble-rouse, John?

GA on the front row. My girlfriend and I were right beside the guy Bono tossed his mic to. Glad I didn't get it, couldn't sing the lyrics to that one, hah!
