Longwave play Chapel HIll on Saturday

After some stints working with other acts (including Albert Hammond, Jr.), New York rockers Longwave released their fourth full-length album in November titled Secrets Are Sinister. The band have amped up their noisy and psychedelic yet poppy sound on the new record. Secrets feels more urgent and in-your-face. Download the opening track from the album, "Sirens in the Deep Sea," at the bottom the post.

Longwave will play Local 506 in on Saturday night (January 17). Aminal Music and Mark Kano and Mike Garrigan of Athanaeum will open the show. It all starts and 10 PM and tickets are $10 either at the door or in advance via etix.com.

The openers' name is Aminal, by the way, intentionally misspelled.
