Ben Folds returning to the Triangle

Geek rock master and Triangle expatriate Ben Folds will return to the Triangle in February to play the Durham Performing Arts Center. The show is set for February 25. Ticket info isn't available yet, but Folds' fanclub, The Peoples Front of Judea, will most likely get first crack at them. Oh and how awesome is it that the fanclub name is a nod to the Life of Brian, one of the funniest movies ever.

For our friends to the west and south, Folds' will also play Asheville and North Charleston on his upcoming tour. Phoenix band Miniature Tigers will open on the entire tour. Check out all the dates below.

Folds' return to the Triangle will be his first show here since the excellent Ben Folds Five reunion in Chapel Hill last September. Check out our review of that show here and watch the show here.

[UPDATE: Tickets for the DPAC show will either be $29.50 (says DPAC) or $30.50 (says Ticketmaster) and will go on sale Friday, January 23 at 10 AM.]

[UPDATE 2: Folds also added a Charlotte date to the schedule. He'll play Ovens Auditorium on March 1.]

Thanks for the heads up on the ticket price.

The new album is actually 'Way To Normal' remixed and remastered less compressed for audiophiles. It will include the fake tracks leaked earlier in the year and other bonus material. It'll also include a disc that will allow fans to make their own mixes of the album tracks. It sounds pretty cool.
