The Civil Wars announce fall tour, coming to Durham

Nashville duo The Civil Wars' star is on the rise. Their debut album Barton Hollow has taken off since it's release in February. On the tour immediately following the release, the band played a sold out show at The Pour House in Raleigh, but this fall, they're moving to a considerably larger room.

They'll play Page Auditorium on Duke's west campus in Durham on Thursday, October 20. Milo Greene will open. Tickets are on sale now HERE for $25 or $22.

[UPDATE: The show in Durham has been postponed because of Joy Williams suffering from laryngitis. Check out the statement posted on the band's website below. The show has been rescheduled to Monday, December 5. Previously purchased tickets are good for the new date, but if you can't attend the new date, call or email Duke ticketing at 919.684.4444 or tickets@duke.edu.
Unfortunately, Joy of The Civil Wars has been diagnosed with laryngitis and has no voice currently. Consequently the band needs to postpone this week's shows in Charlotte, Durham, Norfolk and Charlottesville on Oct 19-22. Rescheduled dates will be announced at the end of this week, hopefully taking place in early December 2011. All tickets will be honored, unless a refund is requested. Our sincere apologies and deep regrets for any disappointment and inconvenience this causes for any of you. Our intention, dependent on Joy's recovery, is for The Civil Wars to resume their tour this Sunday, October 23rd in Washington DC.
Check out a video of the duo performing the song "My Father's Father" from their debut album in the California Redwoods below. Also, you'll find a second video below of them covering Elliott Smith's classic "Between the Bars."
