Indie rock veterans Yo La Tengo are releasing a new album and hitting the road the support it this fall. First, the album. It's titled Popular Songs and will be released by Matador Records on September 8. Download a song from the album, "Periodically Double or Triple," below.A week later, the band will kick off a five-week tour in Burlington, VT. Only a few days later, September 18 to be exact, they will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 24 here or at the box office for $23 or $20.

Outstanding catch announcing this when you did. I was able to call up Fri at 11 and get excellent tickets. The 'official' email from the Carolina Theatre announcing the show didn't come out until 11:30am that morning.
