Here's the nineteenth video in our Merge Video Retrospective series. This one comes from another heavy hitter at Merge, M. Ward. The video is for the song "Chinese Translation" from his 2006 album Post-War. It is a beautifully quirky animated video that deserves a viewing if you've not seen it before. It features guitar playing birds and some monk/samurai dudes. It's pretty awesome.M. Ward will play the XX Merge Festival at the Cat's Cradle in less than two weeks, likely on Friday, July 24 or Saturday, July 25 by looking at the rest of his tour schedule. Ward will also take his role as "Him" in She & Him on Sunday, July 26 at Memorial Hall in Chapel Hill. Tickets for that show are still available via etix.com.
