With the start of XX Merge just over a week away, Merge has released a full schedule of events for the five-day festival. If you want just a simple schedule, jump to the bottom of the post.
There will be the "Merge with Motion" dance event on Saturday, July 17 at the Carolina Theatre (more info on that here), and then the big events start on Wednesday, July 22.
The only event on Wednesday night will be the show at the Cat's Cradle, which will start at 7:15 sharp. Merge said "Trust us, you don't want to miss it." about the first night.
Besides the Cradle shows on Thursday and Friday night which will start at 7:30pm, there will be films shown at Ackland Art Museum on UNC's campus during the day. The Superchunk documentary Quest For Sleep and the Arcade Fire documentary Miroir Noir will be shown on Thursday. Who Loves the Sun, which was scored by Portastatic, and the Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band documentary One of My Kind will be shown on Friday. Check the schedule below for the times. All of the film screenings are free. You can find more information here.
There is a fan organized kickball game at Wilson Park in Carrboro on Friday, July 24. Details on that can be found here.
Prior to Saturday night's Cradle show (also starting at 7:30pm), there's the free afternoon show at Orange County Social Club in Carrboro on Saturday, July 25. The show will start at 1 pm and feature Radar Bros., Tenement Halls, Matt Suggs, Portastatic and The Music Tapes.
And finally, there's the final night's show at Memorial Hall on Sunday, July 26 featuring She & Him, American Music Club and Wye Oak. The show will start at 7pm sharp and there's still tickets available for the show via etix.com.
If all that was too much to take in, check out the schedule below.
