Owl City announces big fall tour, plays Carrboro

Minnesota electro-pop group Owl City (which is really just one guy Adam Young) has announced a big fall tour in support of their new album Ocean Eyes due out on September 1. The tour will kick off on September 9 in Atlanta and the Cat's Cradle will be the third stop on the tour on September 11. According to the Owl City website, tickets will be available via a MySpace Music pre-sale on June 5 and the general onsale date is June 13.

Stream a song from the new album on Owl City's website. The song is titled "Strawberry Avalanche" which sounds a bit like a sugary Postal Service. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

If you're anxious to see Owl City sooner than September, the band will open for Reliant K at the Lincoln Theatre on June 23. Tickets for the show are $15 via etix.com.
