Brad Whitford to sit out Aerosmith summer dates

For those of you going to see Aerosmith on their upcoming tour, it looks like the band will be down one member. Guitarist Brad Whitford is currently recuperating from recent surgery and will miss an unspecified number of dates on the tour. With the Raleigh show at Walnut Creek landing in the first month of the tour, it's likely that Triangle fans won't be seeing Whitford.

Guitarist Bobby Schneck who has played with Green Day, Weezer and Slash will fill in for Whitford on the road.

In other recent Aerosmith tour news, the band confirmed that they will be playing their classic 1975 album Toys in the Attic in its entirety on their summer tour. So there's your silver lining, unless you don't like that album, then you're just screwed.

[UPDATE: Brad Whitford is hoping to join the Aerosmith tour on July 7, the day of the Walnut Creek show. That's great news for all you Triangle Aerosmith fans attending the show.]
