Candlebox to kick off Downtown Live in 2009

Continuing the trend of the past few years, the Raleigh Downtown Live concert series' first performer for 2009 has surfaced and is none other than Candlebox (we know this thanks to On the Beat). Yes, Candlebox. That band that had that one hit song, "Far Away," back in 1993 which was enough to help them move four million copies their self-titled album. The band will play the free Raleigh show on May 30.

So it looks like we're in for another bleak year of Downtown Live shows. We've come to expect it though. Happy holidays!

yay. who else can raleigh book from that 90's compilation cd, 'the buzz'? i'm sure everlast or seven mary three aren't doing anything.

if they're going to book 90's bands every year, at least get good ones with more than one single.
