Just like last year when Swans was announced, Hopscotch Music Festival has made its first announcement for the 2012 festival ahead of the main lineup release which is coming on April 18.West coast drone metal band Sunn O))) will be playing the festival on Saturday, September 8, in a big new room added for this year's event. They'll play the 2,277 capacity Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center which will surely have its walls rattled. The band will play as a quartet at the show.

Three-day wristband tickets for the Hopscotch Music Festival are on sale now via Etix. Single day tickets will go on sale in July.
