Dawes announces tour with Sara Watkins, coming to Carrboro

The soulful rock and roll sound of Dawes will be heard across the east coast again soon as the band prepares to hit the road, this time with singer-songwriter Sara Watkins (formerly of Nickel Creek) on board to open the shows.

They'll come to the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Thursday June 14. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $17.

The Cradle has become a regular stop for Dawes. The band last played the club in October (check out a review and photos from that show HERE) and in in April (see a review and photos of that gig HERE).

Dawes' latest album is Nothing is Wrong, released last year. Check out the music video for "Time Spent in Los Angeles" from the album below.

Watkins has been working on the follow-up to her self-titled debut with producer Blake Mills, who was in the band Simon Dawes which later evolved into Dawes after some lineup changes. She has been releasing clips from the sessions (which you can check out HERE), which include members of Dawes as well as Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The album is due out sometime this year.
