Towers (T0W3RS) covers Lonnie Walker's "Summertime"

Up-and-coming Carrboro band Towers (written as T0W3RS) features a smorgasbord of local talent, Derek Torres of Lake Inferior, Sam Logan of The Huguenots and Alex Maiolo and Karen Blanco of Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies.

The band recently took Lonnie Walker's tune "Summertime" out for a spin with a little help from members of Lilac Shadows, many of which are the same folks. They gave the song a electro pop finish which sounds fantastic. Download the song via the widget below.

[UPDATE: I missed this date earlier since none are listed on the band's various websites, but Towers will open for The Ladybug Transistor and James Husband and Kings in Raleigh on Saturday, July 16. Tickets are available via etix for $8.]

Towers don't have any shows scheduled right now, but Lilac Shadows, which features many of the same band members, will play the Nightlight in Chapel Hill on Saturday, June 25 with Roadside Graves and Joe Romeo. Tickets are $5 at the door.
