The dB's, Superchunk, Tift Merritt, Avett Brothers & more prep Record Store Day exclusive releases

Record Store Day is upon us once again this weekend, on Saturday, April 20. Local independent record stores will continue the great tradition of the day by stocking tons of great exclusive releases by bands big and small which always includes some treats from Triangle acts (and those with Triangle ties). Here are a few of those releases.

The dB's will release a special 12-inch vinyl which includes three new studio tracks, "Revolution of the Mind," Lakefront" and "Orange Squeezer," and a live song recorded in New York titled "pH Factor."

Superchunk are always good for an exclusive release and this year they'll release an 7-inch vinyl of two new songs, "Void" and "Faith."
Tift Merritt will release a 12-inch vinyl titled Markings. It features a previously unreleased song titled "Real Good On My Own" as well as three other songs, an acoustic version of "Traveling Alone" and two other tracks that haven't been named.

North Carolina stars The Avett Brothers also have a exclusive 7-inch vinyl coming out featuring two songs from their CMT Crossroads performance with Randy Travis. It features The Avetts' song "February Seven" as well as Travis' song "Three Wood Crosses."

There is tons of other great music that will be released on Saturday including stuff from The Animals, The Band, Big Star, The Black Keys and Stooges, David Bowie, The Cure, Bob Dylan, Patty Griffin, The Hold Steady, MGMT, Mumford & Sons, Willie Nelson, Graham Parsons, Paul McCartney, Phoenix, Ra Ra Riot, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones, Shearwater and Sharon Van Etten, Sigur Ros, Sly & The Family Stone, Elliott Smith, Tegan and Sara, Destroyer, Chris Walla, The White Stripes, The Zombies and many, many more.
