UPDATE: U2 360 tour dates released, includes Raleigh date!!

U2 have just announced the first dates of their 360 tour which will kick-off in Barcelona in June. The North American leg of the tour begins on September 12 and amazingly includes a date in the Triangle. The Irish mega-group will play Raleigh on October 3. Currently the band's site just lists "Stadium" as the venue. The question is, which stadium? Carter Finley perhaps? Tickets for the show will go on sale to the public on April 6.

UPDATE: The Raleigh date was taken down from U2's website shortly after this posting. The N&O's David Menconi did some legwork and found that the show may not be confirmed after all. Looks like this is a "clap if you believe in fairies" moment. Fingers crossed that this show goes forward! -Valerie
