Before the show: Grammy winners so far

Read our Grammy liveblog here!

All right guys, just a half hour until the Grammys start. Here are some of the winners already announced. Looking at this list it will be interesting to see how many awards are actually given out on air, and the award to performance ratio. Would you rather see Paul McCartney perform with Dave Grohl, or watch Kings of Leon get to get up on stage to accept their award?
  • Coldplay, best group pop performance for "Viva La Vida"
  • John Mayer, best solo rock vocal for "Gravity" (off his live album)
  • Kings of Leon, best rock performance for "Sex on Fire"
  • Bruce Springsteen, best rock song for "Girls in Summer Clothes"
  • Radiohead, best alt rock album for "In Rainbows"
  • Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, best country collaboration for "Killing the Blues" (how is Raising Sand still eligible??)
  • Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, best contemp. folk album for Raising Sand
  • George Carlin, best comedy album for "It's Bad For ya"
  • Juno, best soundtrack (Can't they just give that to Kimya Dawson?)
  • Radiohead's In Rainbows, best boxed/limited edition package
  • Rick Rubin, producer of the year
  • Weezer, best short form video for "Pork and Beans"
  • Tom Petty, best long form video for "Runnin' Down a Dream" (an awesome documentary well worthy of the award)
