New show announcements: Widespread Panic & Jason Isbell, Weezer & Panic! at the Disco, Heart, Joan Jett & Cheap Trick

A bunch of big shows were announced at the end of last week, including the first notable big shed shows of 2016, each of which features multiple performers teaming up for really big shows.

First up, jam band Widespread Panic and acclaimed singer-songwriter Jason Isbell will take a big venue leap when they come to the Triangle this spring to play Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh on Saturday, April 30. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, via Live Nation for $45 to $55.

Next up Weezer and Panic! at the Disco, both with new albums out this year, will play Walnut Creek Amphitheatre on Tuesday, June 21. Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness will open. Tickets will go on sale at noon on Friday, January 22 via Live Nation for $25 to $75. Various pre-sales will begin as early as 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19.

Widespread Panic announces summer tour, two nights in Raleigh

Veteran Georgia jam rockers Widespread Panic are hitting the road again this summer on a big tour that will kick off with two nights in Raleigh with New Orleans jazz band Galactic.

The pair will play the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh on June 5 and 6. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 18, via the Duke Energy Center box office and Ticketmaster.

Widespread Panic announces June tour, two nights in Raleigh

Long-running jam band and regular Triangle visitors Widespread Panic are hitting the road this June on a short tour that will bring them Raleigh for two nights.

They'll play the Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown on June 8 and 9. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 22, at the Progress Energy Center box office and via Ticketmaster.

Widespread Panic announces fall tour, two nights in Raleigh

Widespread Panic are hitting the road this fall on a hefty tour, though this year, they're playing smaller venues that their usual larger haunts.

Instead of playing Walnut Creek this time around, they're playing two nights at the Raleigh Amphitheater in downtown, which is about a fourth of the capacity. The gigs are on September 23 and 24. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 8 via the usual sources including the Progress Energy Center box office.

The band will also be spending New Year's Eve in Charlotte at the Time Warner Cable Arena. Details for the show are not available yet.

Widespread Panic bringing Band of Horses to Raleigh

Dave Matthew Band might not be coming to the Triangle this year, but jam band staples Widespread Panic are still coming. The band just announced new spring dates that includes a two-night stand at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion (aka Walnut Creek Amphitheatre) on April 23 and 24. The best part is that they're bringing Band of Horses along to open the shows. Tickets will go on sale Friday, February 5 for $32 to $37.

The Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic team up for tour

Two of the year's most consistent bookings at the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre over the years are The Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic. This year these two bands will join forces and play Walnut Creek and other outdoor venues together. They will tour together from August 21 to October 17.

The show at the Time Warner Cable Pavilion (aka Walnut Creek) is on October 11, late in the concert season. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, April 3 via LiveNation. The duo will also play a pair of shows in Charlotte at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on October 3 and 4. Those tickets go on sale on Friday too via the same beast.
