Allman Brothers Band announces summer tour, annual Raleigh date

Southern rockers The Allman Brothers Band can be counted on for a summer tour. The band has rolled out a series of late summer dates, including a stop in Raleigh.

They'll play the Time Warner Cable Pavilion at Walnut Creek on Friday, August 30. Tickets will go on sale via LiveNation for 10 a.m. on Friday, May 10.

The Allman Brothers Band announces 2012 summer tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd

Until 2010, The Allman Brothers Band had played the Walnut Creek Amphitheater in Raleigh every year since it opened in 1991, but Gregg Allman's health problems ended that streak. Greg Allman came to Cary solo in 2011, but his year the band will be back in Raleigh when they hit the road on their summer tour.

They'll play Walnut Creek (the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion) with fellow southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd on Saturday, August 4. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 5 via the big ticket outlets for $26 to $66.

The Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic team up for tour

Two of the year's most consistent bookings at the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre over the years are The Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic. This year these two bands will join forces and play Walnut Creek and other outdoor venues together. They will tour together from August 21 to October 17.

The show at the Time Warner Cable Pavilion (aka Walnut Creek) is on October 11, late in the concert season. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, April 3 via LiveNation. The duo will also play a pair of shows in Charlotte at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on October 3 and 4. Those tickets go on sale on Friday too via the same beast.
