Tedeschi Trucks Band & Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings announce 'Wheels of Soul' summer tour

Tedeschi Trucks Band and Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings will team up this summer on the Wheels of Soul tour that will take them to amphitheaters across the U.S.

One of the stops on the tour will be at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on Saturday, July 18. Doyle Bramhall II will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 27, via the venue box office and Etix for $44.50 or $75.

Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings return with new album, 2014 tour

After undergoing treatment and surgery to fight a cancer diagnosis earlier this year, soulful songstress Sharon Jones and her band The Dap-Kings are ready to return to the scene with a new album. It is titled Give the People What They Want and it will be out on January 14. A tour will follow the release which will bring the band to the Triangle.

Jones and the gang will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Thursday, February 13. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 15, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $27 to $32.

Jones and the Dap-Kings will make their big return during the big Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28.

Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival announces fall lineup, Bela Fleck, Sharon Jones & more

The biannual Shakori Hills Grassroots Music and Dance Festival in Pittsboro is a staple in the Triangle, always sporting an eclectic lineup of performers. The fall festival, held this year on October 6-9, will be no different.

Some of the big names this time around are Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Donna the Buffalo, Brett Dennen, The Duhks and more. There are also many great local bands playing, including The Old Ceremony, Hammer No More the Fingers, The Tender Fruit and more. Check out the full lineup, as it stands now, below.

Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings announce new tour, coming to Raleigh

The undeniably amazing classic soul sound of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings will be rolling through country early this year and will bring the group back to the Triangle.

The band last played the Cat's Cradle in May 2010 and this time will be heading east to play Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh on Saturday, March 26. Tickets for the show will be $25 in advance and should be available via etix soon.

Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings announce spring tour

The soulful sounds of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings will be heard around the country this spring and and they will have a new album in tow. The band will release I Learned the Hard Way on April 6 via Daptone Records and the tour will bring them to the Cat's Cradle on Tuesday, May 11. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, Feb. 19 via etix.com for $25.
