E Street guitarist Nils Lofgren announces 2016 tour

E Street Band guitarist and singer-songwriter Nils Lofgren will hit the road in 2016 for a few solo tour dates and one of his stops will be right here in the Triangle in January.

Lofgren will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Thursday, January 21. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 16, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $29 to $79.10. The venue pre-sale has already started via Ticketmaster using the code FACE.

Lofgren released a 10-disc career retrospective last year titled Face the Music and he will also release a new live album on November 13 titled UK2015 Face the Music Tour. Josh Ritter announces winter 2015 tour

Singer-songwriter Josh Ritter will release his eighth studio album on October 16 titled Sermon on the Rocks and he has just announced a new run of winter tour dates in early 2016 in support of it.

Ritter will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Thursday, February 25. Every ticket purchased will include a download of Ritter's new album. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 25, via Ticketmaster and the venue box office for $29 to $63.73. The venue pre-sale will begin at 10 a.m. today, September 23, with the code SERMON.

Punch Brothers announce December tour, coming to Durham

The virtuoso string band Punch Brothers have just announced a new round of December tour dates in support of their latest album The Phosphorescent Blues and they'll return to the Triangle.

The group will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Thursday, December 17. Anais Mitchell will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 18, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $37 to $78.50. The venue presale began today, September 16, via Ticketmaster with the code BLUES.

Brian Wilson announces fall tour with Al Jardine

Legendary Beach Boys singer-songwriter Brian Wilson is hitting the road this fall in support of his latest album No Pier Pressure and he is bringing fellow ousted Beach Boy Al Jardine and guitarist and singer Blondie Chaplin along for the run.

The tour will come to the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Thursday, November 19. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 28, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $57 to $255.75.

Dr. John & The Nite Trippers announce fall tour

Legendary New Orleans pianist and singer Dr. John will be heading back out on the road this fall with his band The Nite Trippers in support of his latest album, 2014's Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch, an album of songs made famous by Louis Armstrong.

The tour will come to the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Saturday, October 3. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $41 to $105.83 (plus fees. An online pre-sale has already started and runs through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, using the password SATCH.

The Jacksons plot 50th anniversary tour, coming to Durham

The Jacksons are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their legendary group, once led by the late superstar Michael Jackson, with a tour consisting of three of the four living members, Tito, Jackie and Marlon, but not Jermaine.

The tour will come to the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Monday, October 5. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $47 to $180.75. The online pre-sale begins at 10 a.m. today, August 12, via Ticketmaster with the password JACKSONS.

Colin Hay announce 2016 dates, coming to Durham

Scottish Australian singer-songwriter Colin Hay is spending the summer out on the Last Summer on Earth tour with Barenaked Ladies, which just stopped in Raleigh on July 4, and Hay has just announced some 2016 dates that will bring him here on his own this winter.

He'll play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Thursday, February 11. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $26 to $52. The venue pre-sale will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8.

Ms. Lauryn Hill announces 2015 tour, coming to Durham

Soul singer Ms. Lauryn Hill is heading back out on the road later this summer for a new round of U.S. dates that will bring her to a much more intimate venue than her tour last summer which brought her to Red Hat Amphitheater.

Hill will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Monday, August 10. Raury will open.Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $57 to $207.63. The venue pre-sale begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, with the code DOOWOP.

My Morning Jacket coming to Durham for 'The Dark Crystal' screening

Continuing the endless parade of impressive speakers at the the Film Acoustic series at the Carolina Theatre in Durham, July's installment might be the most impressive booking yet.

Psychedelic rock superstars My Morning Jacket will come to the theatre on Monday, July 27, for a screening and discussion of the 1982 Jim Henson and Frank Oz classic The Dark Crystal. Check out a trailer for the film below.

My Morning Jacket will play the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh the following night, Tuesday, July 28, in support of their new album The Waterfall.

Yo La Tengo announces new album, fall acoustic tour

Indie rock veterans Yo La Tengo will release a new album on August 28 titled Stuff Like That There which will featured reworked versions of some of their old music as well as some covers. The band will hit the road on an acoustic tour this fall in support of the album and will come to the Triangle.

They will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Saturday, September 26. The band's former lead guitarist Dave Schramm will join them for the show. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 5, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $26 to $63.95.

Will Butler coming to Durham for '12 Monkeys' screening

Continuing the endlessly impressive lineup of artists who have taken part in the Film Acoustic series at the Carolina Theatre in Durham, Arcade Fire member and solo singer-songwriter Will Butler will join the ranks when he comes to town in June.

Butler will come to the Carolina Theatre for a screening of Terry Gilliam modern classic 12 Monkeys on Monday, June 22. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $15.

Aaron Neville announces fall tour, Durham show with Blind Boys of Alabama

Soul singer Aaron Neville will hit the road once again this fall and and he'll make a stop in the Triangle in October with support from the Blind Boys of Alabama.

Neville and the Blind Boys will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Friday, October 16. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 8, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $37 to $77. The web pre-sale has already started.

The Milk Carton Kids announce new album 'Monterey,' fall tour

Stellar folk duo The Milk Carton Kids will release a new album on May 19 titled Monterey. They will hit the road this fall on a massive North American tour in support of it that will bring them back to the Triangle.

Jeff Tweedy slated for 'American Movie' screening in Durham

The Film: Acoustic series at the Carolina Theatre seems to be showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to booking top notch musicians to come to the venue to discuss films that they like and have inspired them. The May installment will include a doozy of a guest.

Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy will come to the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Saturday, May 23, for a screening and discussion of the 1999 documentary film American Movie. Tickets for the event will go on sale at 10 a.m. today, April 15, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $15.

Morrissey announces summer tour, returning to Durham

Former Smiths frontman and moody crooner Morrissey is hitting the road this summer on a U.S. tour that will bring him back to Triangle for the first time since 2009 (he played Durham Performing Arts Center in March of that year; check out a review HERE).

This time Morrissey will play a smaller Durham venue, the Carolina Theatre, on Monday, June 15. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 10, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster starting at $41.

David Crosby announces summer solo acoustic tour

Singer-songwriter David Crosby, most notably known as part of Crosby, Stills and Nash for those living under a rock, will head on his own this summer on a month-long acoustic tour that will take him to theaters across the U.S.

Crosby will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Tuesday, June 16. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 20, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $48 to $209.05. An online pre-sale begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 19.

Butch Walker announces spring 2015 headline tour

After spending the initial months following the release of his latest album Afraid of Ghosts out opening for the album's producer, one Mr. Ryan Adams, singer-songwriter Butch Walker will head out on a headlining tour this spring and will make a stop in the Triangle.

Walker will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Sunday, May 10. Jonathan Tyler will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 20, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster starting at $24.

Patterson Hood coming to Durham for 'Network' screening

Continuing was has become quite the all-star lineup of the ongoing Film Acoustic film series at the Carolina Theatre in Durham, the venue has announced it's latest musician that will appear at the April screening that continues this impressive trend.

The theater will screen the 1976 film Network on Monday, April 13, with special guest Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers. Tickets for the event will go on sale at 10 a.m. on at 10 a.m. today, March 12, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $15.

Mavis Staples & Joan Osborne announce 'Solid Soul' tour

A pair of seemingly unlikely cohorts, soul legend Mavis Staples and folk rocker Joan Osborne, will team up for a tour this fall dubbed Solid Soul. The dates are just starting to emerge and the Triangle is one of the stops.

The pair will play the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Monday, November 16. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 13, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $34 to $159.35. The venue presale starts at 10 a.m. today, March 11.

Frank Black coming to Durham for 'Brazil' screening

The new Film Acoustic film series just kicked off a couple of months ago at the Carolina Theatre in Durham and they've managed to bring in an amazing batch of artists thus far with Wayne Coyne, Lucinda Williams and Neko Case coming to town to discuss some of their favorite films.

The series shows no signs of slowing with the announcement of the March event that will feature Pixies' frontman Frank Black. The film that will be screened and discussed is 1985 Terry Gilliam film Brazil.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 19. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $15.
