Ben Folds Five start work on new album, eyeing spring release

Legendary Chapel Hill piano rock band Ben Folds Five have officially started to work on their first new album since 1999's The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner.

On Wednesday (January 25) Folds' Tweeted a photo of the band at work (which you can see on the right) saying "It's happening fo sho - Day 1 in studio with Robert and Darren through March." If that's not exciting enough, the music is expected out as early as this spring as Folds stated in a later Tweet.

Folds has also teased that he will be returning to Raleigh to perform with the North Carolina Symphony again in March (he played with them in 2010 at Meymandi Hall). Details are not available yet, but we'll certainly keep you posted.
