Broad Street Cafe seeks petition signatures to keep music playing

Durham's Broad Street Cafe could use your help. In order to continue offering live music past 10 p.m., the venue needs to obtain a permit from the City of Durham.

In order to make their permit hearing next week go a little smoother, they are seeking petition signatures from their patrons.

The text of the petition is as follows:
We, the undersigned, are patrons of The Broad Street Café, located at 1116 Broad Street Café in Durham, North Carolina. We value the Broad Street Café and its contributions to the community of Durham. The musical acts that perform at The Broad Street Café are a tremendous part of the dynamic cultural community that we as citizens of Durham are proud to represent. We urge the Durham Board of Adjustment to issue a Minor Use Permit to The Broad Street Café allowing it to have musical acts perform after 10 o’clock p.m.
The petition is located near the cash register at the cafe, 1116 Broad Street in Durham. If you're unable to make it there by next Tuesday, you can sign an online petition at: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/BSC_MusicPermit

here are a couple of really good ways to sign the petition at Broad Street; On Friday there are two great shows at or near there.

at Broad Street on Friday is Pistil, Roxcetera, Soulless Dogs, and Tad Dreis. if your persuasion is more americana anti-folk then just down the street at Duke Coffeehouse is The Wigg Report, Midtown Dickens, Humble Tripe, Justin Robinson and the Mary Annettes.

regardless of which you go to, pre-party at Broad Street around 8:00, sign the petition, sip awesome beer, and watch their early show, which is signer songwriter Daniel Sean and his beautiful Martin D-48.
