Australian band Wolfmother announced today that they've split up, citing "longstanding friction." The band played their last show on Sunday in Australia which was described as "fraught" and "tense."Bassist/keyboard player Chris Ross decided to leave first and drummer Myles Heskett followed as opposed to staying in a new incarnation of Wolfmother.
The Wolfmother brand is not dead though. It seems the band name will live on with lead singer Andrew Stockdale and a new line-up.
Will Wolfmother 2.0 rock has hard as the original? Only time will tell.

damn this is bad news. I saw them twice. once out in SF and once at the Lincoln Theater and they rocked the house. lots of energy.
