Neko Case announces summer 2015 tour

After spending much of last year touring with The New Pornographers in support of their latest album Brill Bruisers, songstress Neko Case will head back out on the road this year on a solo tour that will bring her to the Triangle.

Case will return to the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh on Friday, June 19. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $26 or $35.

Anti- Records will reissue Case's 2006 album Fox Confessor Brings the Flood on red vinyl for Record Store Day on April 18. Stream the full album below.

Neko Case coming to Durham for third Film Acoustic event

Following in the footsteps of Wayne Coyne and Lucinda Williams (whose event is tonight, January 26), the third presentation of the Film: Acoustic series at the Carolina Theatre in Durham will feature singer-songwriter Neko Case.

The screening will be on Monday, February 23, and feature the 1984 film Repo Man. The discussion about the film will not only include Case, but also executive producer of the film Michael Nesmith.

The New Pornographers announce new album, tour with Pains of Being Pure at Heart

Indie pop supergroup The New Pornographers featuring A.C. Newman, Neko Case and Dan Bejar are back with their first new album since 2010's Together. The band will release Bill Bruisers on August 26 and the full lineup will hit the road for a big fall tour with support from the Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

The bands will wrap the tour at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Sunday, November 23. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13, via Ticketfly for $30.

Neko Case impresses with solo career spanning set at DPAC

On one of the first truly chilly North Carolina nights in 2013, Neko Case treated a nearly sold out DPAC to a set that only a nitpicky few would find lacking.

Opener Karen Elson set the stage with a set of dark blues. With just her voice, her guitar and her partner on guitar the sound was sparse and foreboding. Elson’s set derived mostly from her debut album The Ghost Who Walks, but she left out most of the medieval sounding sounds and stuck with blues.

With a small personal repertoire to pull from, Elson performed a few covers including a wonderful version of Jackson C. Frank’s “Marcy’s Song.” She closed with “There Is A Time” by The Dillards which seemed fitting in the Tar Heel state as the song was made famous during a performance on The Andy Griffith Show.

Neko Case announces new album, 2013 tour plans

Singer-songwriter Neko Case has just announced plans to release the follow-up to her acclaimed 2009 album Middle Cyclone. The new album, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You, will be out on September 3 and she'll hit the road to support it.

She'll play the Durham Performing Arts Center on Saturday, October 26. Tickets will go on sale at noon on Friday, June 14, via the venue box office and Ticketmaster for $25, $35 or $45.

Neko Case announces summer shows, coming to Raleigh

Back in 2010, songstress Neko Case was scheduled to play the North Carolina Museum of Art's summer concert series but unfortunately had to cancel her tour. Almost two years later, she'll finally make up the the show when she heads out on a summer tour.

Case will play the NCMA in Raleigh on Saturday, July 14. Kelly Hogan will open. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $20 (general admission) or $30 (reserved seats). Museum members can buy discounted seats.

Case just released a fantastic new song titled "Nothing to Remember" on the album The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond. Check out the song below.

Neko Case cancels August dates, including Raleigh

Here's a big bummer. Neko Case was scheduled to play some solo shows in August, including a show at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh on Aug. 19, but the show and rest of her dates have now been canceled.

The NCMA statement says that the shows have been canceled due to Case's "overextended work schedule." You can't really argue with that considering she just wrapped a two-month tour with The New Pornographers. The NCMA hopes to book Case for their 2011 summer concert series, so that's something to look forward to.

Lost in the Trees, who were scheduled to open for Case in Raleigh, will play a free show at the Wallace Parking Deck in Chapel Hill on Thursday, Aug. 26, with Physics of Meaning.

Neko Case coming to Raleigh for solo show

Singer-Songwriter Neko Case, who is spending her summer on tour with The New Pornographers who are in Chapel Hill tonight (June 25), will be returning to the Triangle on her own in August.

The songstress will play a solo set at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh on Thursday, August 19. Tickets for the show go on sale Tuesday, June 29 at 10 a.m. here. General admission seats will be $20 and reserved seating is $30. There is also a discount for members of the museum.

Jakob Dylan and Three Legs cancels Cat's Cradle show

Jakob Dylan and his band Three Legs (featuring Neko Case and Kelly Hogan) were set to play the Cat's Cradle on Tuesday, May 18, but it's been canceled. The show was announced less than two weeks ago and no reason has been given so far about the cancellation.

I'm not sure if tickets had gone on sale for the show yet, but if they did, refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

It's not much of a conciliation for those who were planning to go to the show, but you can check out Dylan and Three Legs' four-song Interface performance featuring the songs "Nothing But the Whole Wide World," "Everybody's Hurting," "Holy Rollers For Love" and "They've Trapped Us Boys" right here. They sound pretty good.

Jakob Dylan & Three Legs feat. Neko Case announces new dates

Jakob Dylan and his new band Three Legs featuring Neko Case and Kelly Hogan have just announced some new dates supporting Dylan's newly released album Women and Country. The dates include a stop at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Tuesday, May 18. Tickets for the show will be $25 and will be available soon via etix.

Neko Case plays for The Interface

Neko Case recently stopped by Spinner's studios to record a stripped down session accompanied only by an acoustic guitar and a background singer. The result was four great performances of "Middle Cylcone," "People Got a Lot of Nerve," "Don't Forget Me" and "I'm an Animal" from her fantastic new album Middle Cyclone. ANTI- Records have released another track from Neko Case's upcoming album Middle Cyclone. It is the album's titled track which is a great little strummy, quiet little song that's a nice counterpart to the previously released track "People Got a Lot of Nerve." Download "Middle Cylone" below.

Neko Case to tour, play with Crooked Fingers in Raleigh

Indie songstress and New Pornographer Neko Case is set to play Raleigh in April. She'll be touring in support of her forthcoming album Middle Cyclone which will out on March 3 via Anti- Records. Download "People Got a Lotta Nerve" from the album at the bottom of the post.

Case will bring Crooked Fingers (aka Eric Bachmann) with her when she plays Meymandi Hall on April 7. Crooked Fingers just released a new album in October titled Forfeit/Fortune. Check out a track from that album below too.

Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, January 23 at 10 AM via the Progress Energry Center box office and Ticketmaster for $22 or $25.

This date will accompany more tour dates which haven't been announced yet, but check below for a short list of dates I've been able to find. It's unclear if Crooked Fingers will be out for the entire run but we'll add more dates and info as it comes in.
