My Morning Jacket coming to Durham for 'The Dark Crystal' screening

Continuing the endless parade of impressive speakers at the the Film Acoustic series at the Carolina Theatre in Durham, July's installment might be the most impressive booking yet.

Psychedelic rock superstars My Morning Jacket will come to the theatre on Monday, July 27, for a screening and discussion of the 1982 Jim Henson and Frank Oz classic The Dark Crystal. Check out a trailer for the film below.

My Morning Jacket will play the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh the following night, Tuesday, July 28, in support of their new album The Waterfall.

My Morning Jacket announces new album 'The Waterfall,' summer tour

Psychedelic rockers My Morning Jacket have just announced that they will release their seventh full-length studio album, their first in four years, titled The Waterfall on May 4 and have also unveiled a big North American tour in support of it that will run through the summer.

The band will play the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh on Tuesday, July 28. Lucius will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 13, via the Duke Energy Center box office and Ticketmaster. A fan club pre-sale will begin on Monday, March 9.

My Morning Jacket announces summer tour with Band of Horses, coming to Raleigh

Kentucky rock band My Morning Jacket is hitting the road this summer with stops at mid-size amphitheaters and theaters across the U.S., and they're bringing Band of Horses along for the ride.

The bands will stop at the Raleigh Amphitheater on Sunday, August 26. Ticket information is not available yet, but we'll keep you posted.

My Morning Jacket will donate $1 from every ticket sold for the August shows to a local charity. The charity for the Raleigh show is the Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation.

My Morning Jacket announces December tour, coming to Greensboro

Kentucky's indie/southern/jam rock band (or however you choose to describe them), My Morning Jacket, is touring hard supporting their latest album, Circuital. A new round of U.S. dates have been announced for December which will bring the band to the Triad.

They'll play the War Memorial Auditorium in Greensboro on Monday, December 12. Delta Spirit will open the show. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 23 for $47 via Ticketmaster and the Greensboro Coliseum box office.

My Morning Jacket to tour with Preservation Hall Jazz Band

Kentucky rock band My Morning Jacket are gearing up for a series of spring tour dates with an unlikely touring partner, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The tour will bring them to Cary's Koka Booth Amphitheatre on Friday, April 30. Ticket info is not available yet, but we'll keep you posted. Tickets will go on sale Friday, February 5 at noon here for $35. Check out the entire tour schedule below.

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James' relationship with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band began when he performed with them in New Orleans last year. He recorded two sons with the band too that will be featured on the Jazz Band's upcoming album PRESERVATION: An Album To Benefit Preservation Hall & The Preservation Hall Music Outreach Program. It will be released on February 16.
