IBMA Awards, World of Bluegrass conference, Wide Open Bluegrass Festival returning to Raleigh in the fall

After a successful first year in Raleigh in 2013, the International Bluegrass Music Association is returning to Raleigh in in September and October 2014 for the second year of their three-year deal with the City of Raleigh.

Like last year, the week-long event will bring the World of Bluegrass music conference, the annual International Bluegrass Music Awards, and the big weekend Wide Open Bluegrass music festival to downtown Raleigh. This year's event will run from September 30 to October 4.

Tickets for members are already on sale as of March 31 and tickets for non-members will go on sale for all of the events on Monday April 14 HERE.

According to Pollstar, the Del McCoury Band will be returning for the big Red Hat Amphitheater show on the final on Saturday, October 4. Also Scott Holstein and Old Back 40 Band, Gene Watson and Rhonda Vincent are listed as playing the Awards show on September 30 even though the awards are actually on October 2. Either way, it's fair to say that these acts will show up to perform in some capacity but it's not clear when and where yet. We'll keep you posted as more performers get announced in the coming months.
