Video: Justin Timberlake plays Justin Vernon on SNL

Over the weekend, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver was all the buzz on the web after Justin Timberlake played him in a sketch on Saturday Night Live.

The sketch was based around musicians coming to visit Beyonce (Maya Rudolph) and Jay-Z's (Jay Pharoah) new baby Blue Ivy Carter, which was capped by Timberlake showing up as Vernon to play a version of "Holocene" about the baby. I won't give any more away, because you need to see it for yourself, so check it out below.

During the goodnights at the end of the show, Timberlake was holding a sign that said "I Heart Bon Iver." The whole thing was all in good fun and also happened to be the funniest bit of the show.

Vernon took to Twitter after the sketch aired and expressed his support and elation about what unfolded and told those who were upset or offended about it to chill out:
holy shit, i was just watching SNL and JT did a Bon Iver hilarious thing! Also, Maya Rudolph saying "bon iver" is enough. I can die now!!!

JT! SNL peeps… that was hilarious. Armisen as prince… Also, i WISH i looked that good bald. That was it… the most surreal thing! ever!

JT was playing that guitar part well! I was red-face-embarrased but laughing my ass off the whole time! I'm by myself out here people! #!
