Hopscotch adds new venue for 2012, tickets on sale in December

It's hard to believe that the 2011 Hopscotch Music Festival was  two months ago (it doesn't feel like it's been that long), but we're already looking forward to the festivities of 2012.

The dates for 2012 were announced a while back, which are September 6, 7 and 8. The bands will be announced on April 18, 2012, but wristbands will go on sale next month, on Thursday, December 1. For the first time, the club-only wristband will not be an option due to "lack of interest" according to the festival. The 2012 options are as follows:

  • Three-day VIP wristband - $165
  • Three-day all-show wristband - $110
People who have previously purchased a Hopscotch wristband will get a leg up on new buyers by being allowed to purchase a 2012 wristband a day early, Wednesday, November 30.

Also, for the first time they'll be offering single-day passes starting on August 1, 2012, which will cost $55 to $75. For more details on the new wristband and pass system, head HERE.

And last but certainly not least, the first new venue has been announced for 2012. It is the fantastic looking Long View Center in Moore Square. The space is an old church that was built between 1879 and 1881. It can seat about 400 people, so it should be a great addition to the list of venues. We can't wait to see what bands will land there.

We're still about 10 months away from Hopscotch 2012, so you can bet we'll have a lot more coverage between now and then. You can follow us on Twitter, Facebook and even Tumblr.
