First, Schoolkids Records in Raleigh will be hosting four bands starting with Radical Classical at 11 a.m., then the Dex Romweber Duo at noon (who will play Motorco Music Hall later that night) and The Raveonettes at 4 p.m. (who will play the Cat's Cradle later that night)
Over at Bull City Records in Durham, there will be a performance at around 3 or 4 p.m. featuring two of the bands featured on the Guided By Voices tribute album available that day. The specifics are not confirmed yet and the artists performing have not been announced, but locals North Elementary, Whatever Brains and Free Electric State are featured on the release, so there's a fair chance one or more of those groups will be involved.
Also, DJ Castro will be spinning records at Ed McKay Used Books and More in Raleigh from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
So get out and enjoy some live music while you support our local record stores.
