Work on the sophomore effort by The Love Language has been fervent and taking place at Raleigh's Flying Tiger Sound over the last month and a half and is now complete. The album is titled Libraries and should be in "mid-summer" via Merge Records.
That's the good news, now here's the bad. Three members of the band has parted ways with the group to focus on their own band, The Light Pines. The departees include bassist Josh Pope, drummer Tom Simpson and keyboardist Kate Thompson.
In a post on the band's blog, Stu says that Missy and Jordan are still with the band, but there is no mention of guitarist Junis Beefmonth, but it does say that B.J. Burton will join the band on guitar for upcoming shows along with Brian Corum of Lonnie Walker on bass.
It will be interesting to hear the new live incarnation of The Love Language considering the line-up got incredibly tight over the last couple of years, but having two dedicated bands creating music in Triangle is definitely a good thing.
