Stream the new Love Language album 'Libraries'

The Love Language's highly anticipated sophomore album Libraries isn't due out until July 13 via Merge Records, but alas, you can stream the entire album right now. Head over to Merge Records' "Listen" page and give it a listen. The stream is available for a limited time, but it's not clear how long that will actually be, but it's usually quite a while.

Don't forget, the band will be playing a big album release show at the Cat's Cradle on Saturday, July 17 with The Light Pines. Tickets are just $8 and available here.

Smashing Pumpkins announce club tour, headed to Virginia, Charlotte

Billy Corgan's latest incarnation of the Smashing Pumpkins, now sans Jimmy Chamberlain leaving Corgan as the only original member, has announced a new summer club tour. Unfortunately, since the Triangle doesn't have a 1,000 capacity or greater club, the tour won't stop here, but will visit our neighbors in Virginia twice as well as Charlotte.

The Smashing Pumpkins will play The National in Richmond, VA on Tuesday, July 13, The Norva in Norfolk, VA on Thursday, July 15 and the Fillmore in Charlotte on Friday, July 16.

Tickets for the Norfolk show go on sale Saturday, June 12 at 10 a.m. for $45 here. We'll keep you updated on the other dates once details are available. The Richmond show goes on sale at the same time here, also for $45. The Charlotte show goes on sale Friday, June 18 at 10 a.m. here.

Paul McCartney brings Up and Coming tour to Charlotte

The legendary Sir Paul McCartney is adding dates to his 2010 Up and Coming tour (up and coming? good one, Sir Paul) and for the first time since 2002, a North Carolina city is on his list.

Sir Paul will visit Charlotte's Time Warner Cable Arena (that's the new Bobcats arena to you and me) on Wednesday, July 28. Tickets will go on sale Saturday, June 12, at 10am here.

We were lucky enough to be just yards from the stage for McCartney's show in Atlanta's Piedmont Park last summer and it was a phenomenal experience. As McCartney keeps threatening that each tour will be his last (and really, hasn't he deserved a restful retirement?), if you're a fan of the Beatles, Wings or any of his incarnations over the decades, you simply won't want to miss this show.

New Superchunk album gets release date, cover art, teaser video, more

Set your countdown clocks now, because the first new full-length Superchunk album in nine years, dubbed Majestry Shredding, now has a release date. The album will be out on September 14, almost exactly nine years since the September 18, 2001 release of Here's To Shutting up.

We not only have a date, but the album art was released today too (that's it there to the right). Check out the full track list below, which features two familiar tunes. "Crossed Wires," released as a 7" single in 2009 and "Learned to Surf," released on the Leaves In the Gutter EP, also released in 2009.

But wait, there's more. Check out a short teaser video below which features studio footage as well as bits of "Digging For Something" and "My Gap Feels Weird."

Camera Obscura woos sold out Duke Gardens crowd

The weather was looking grim early Wednesday evening for the weekly Music in the Gardens series concert, but just before the show was set to start, the rain passed and the tarps were removed for Scottish band Camera Obscura to take the stage.

The sextet's indie pop fit right in with the garden's lush surroundings. They rolled through a set spanning the band's last three albums, starting with the title track from their latest album My Maudlin Career.
