TRKfest announces 2011 lineup, Bowerbirds, Mount Moriah & more

The annual music festival TRKfest, put on by local label Trekky Records, is set to return for it's fourth year on Saturday, August 13. It will be down at Piedmont Biofuels it Pittsboro and as always, feature a slew of local bands.

The initial lineup features Bowerbirds, Mount Moriah, Midtown Dickens, Hammer No More the Fingers, Embarrassing Fruits, Ryan Gustafson, Yardwork, Brice Randall Bickford, Butterflies and Vibrant Green. More bands are still to be announced, and we'll keep you posted as they're added.

2011 WKNC Double Barrel Benefit night two lineup

We brought you the lineup of the first night of WKNC's annual Double Barrel Benefit show before the official announcement yesterday, and today, thanks to a tip, we have the lineup of the second night at Kings in Raleigh on Saturday, February 5 before the official announcement too.

We've been told that Saturday night will feature sets by Hammer No More the Fingers, Yardwork, King Mez, HaLo and Kid Future.

Tickets for each night of the Double Barrel Benefit will be $10, or you can get a two-day pass for $18. Tickets should be available sometime today, January 11, via etix.

The 2010 Trekky Christmas at the Cradle line-up announced

The Trekky Records Christmas at the Cradle event has become a staple around the holidays in the Triangle and 2010 will mark the fifth annual event.

It will happen at Cat's Cradle (hence the name) on Thursday, December 16, and as always, the proceeds will go to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Tickets will be available soon via etix for just $8.

This year's line-up features The Trekky Yuletide Orchestra, Chris Stamey, The Old Ceremony, Filthybird, Phil Cook and His Feat, The Tender Fruit, Yardwork, Cassis Orange and In the Year of the Pig. The evening's host will be Mr. Billy Sugarfix.

It'll be a fun evening for a great cause, so check it out if you can.

A few more bands added to TRKfest line-up

With TRKfest in Pittboro just a little more than a month away, three new bands have been added to the line-up. Trekky superstars Lost in the Trees have are now one of new headlining acts. Charlotte band Yardwork and Durham guitarist Ezekial Graves are the other additions.

For those who missed it the first time, TRKfest is on Saturday, June 26 at Piedmonth Biofuels in Pittsboro. There are no advance tickets but a suggested donation of $10 is suggested, but not mandatory, when you arrive.
