The Hold Steady announces fall dates, coming to Carrboro

Regular Triangle visitors The Hold Steady are heading back out on the road for a few shows this fall and the Triangle was lucky enough to get one.

The band will return to the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Sunday, October 14. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 14 via Etix for $18.

The band's latest album is 2010's Heaven is Whenever. Check out the band performing "Rock Problems" from the album on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson below.

Craig Finn announces 2012 tour, coming to Chapel Hill

Craig Finn, lead singer of The Hold Steady, will be hitting the road with his solo band in early 2012 to support his debut solo album Clear Heart Full Eyes, due out January 24 on Vagrant Records.

The tour will stop at Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Saturday, March 3. Marcellus Hall will open. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, December 16 via Etix for $12.

The Hold Steady announces summer tour, coming to Carrboro

The Hold Steady have rolled out new summer tour dates that will finally bring the band back to the Triangle in support of their latest album Heaven Is Whenever.

They'll play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Wednesday, August 31. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, May 26 at 10 a.m. via etix for $18. The Donkeys are set to open the show.

The Hold Steady and Drive-By Truckers plan co-headline tour

After playing a sold-out show at the Cat's Cradle just last week, The Hold Steady have announced that they will hit the road for a month long co-headline tour with Drive-By Truckers. The tour will be dubbed the "Rock and Roll Means Well Tour."

The tour will kick off in Louisville, Kentucky on October 30 and run through November 25 in Los Angeles. The two bands will swap the closing set each night. A Raleigh date is on the books for November 3 at the Lincoln Theatre. Tickets for that show go on sale this Friday, August 22 via etix.com for $23. Drive-By Truckers will close the show that night.

Jimmy Eat World to play Disco Rodeo

Jimmy Eat World joins the growing line-up of shows this fall at Disco Rodeo. The band will play Raleigh on October 28, less than two weeks after the release of their new album, Chase This Light (out October 16).

There have been an increasing number of shows scheduled for Disco Rodeo lately. In recent years, the venue has hosted very few shows so the growing number of shows for the fall is quite a pleasant surprise.
