Hopscotch 2013 Night 3: The Breeders, Spiritualized

On an absolutely gorgeous North Carolina day, The Breeders put to rest any concern that they might sound like a facsimile of their former selves.

Unlike Hopscotch alums Guided By Voices, The Breeders didn’t trudge through their 90s rock, they embraced it. The band enjoyed the idea of recreating Last Splash going as far as to even bring some of the original equipment they used in 1993 when they recorded the album.

Hopscotch announces 2013 lineup, Big Boi, Spirutualized, Local Natives & more

Today's the day. The big Hopscotch Music Festival 2013 lineup has been revealed and as always it features a some big names, rising stars, unique performances and much, much more.

This year's performers on the big City Plaza stage will be Big Boi, Future Islands and Gross Ghost on Friday, September 6, and Spiritualized, the Breeders (playing Last Splash) and The Lollipops on Saturday, September 7.

Other notable performances include Local Natives, Kurt Vile, The Rosebuds performing Sade's Love Deluxe, Chatham County Line, Mikal Cronin, Marnie Stern, Mount Moriah, Night Beds, Amor de Dias, Kopecky Family Band, Nightlands and so many more. Check out the full lineup below.

Spiritualized announces North American tour, coming to Carrboro

Acclaimed British psychedelic rock band Spiritualized will release their seventh full-length album Sweet Heart Sweet Light in the U.S. in April and will hit the road in May to support it.

The tour will stop at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Saturday, May 12. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, February 2 via Etix for $18.
