Kurt Vile & The Violators announce winter 2016 tour

Philadelphia singer songwriter Kurt Vile has extended his world tour in support of his new album b'lieve i'm goin down... and the new North American leg in early 2016 will bring him to the Triangle.

Vile will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Thursday, March 3. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 20, via Ticketfly for $20.

Best of 2013: Triangle Music readers' favorites

Now that Justin and I (Kevin) have shared our favorite music of 2013 with you, it's time for the important stuff — what you guys like.

The votes of our annual readers' poll have been counted and the top album of the year is the latest from The National, Trouble Will Find Me. "Wakin' on a Pretty Day' by singer-songwriter Kurt Vile was your favorite songs of the year, and Band of Horses at The Ritz was your favorite show of the year.  Check out the rest of the lists below which include Arcade Fire, Sigur Rós, Vampire Weekend, Hiss Golden Messenger and more.

Hopscotch announces 2013 lineup, Big Boi, Spirutualized, Local Natives & more

Today's the day. The big Hopscotch Music Festival 2013 lineup has been revealed and as always it features a some big names, rising stars, unique performances and much, much more.

This year's performers on the big City Plaza stage will be Big Boi, Future Islands and Gross Ghost on Friday, September 6, and Spiritualized, the Breeders (playing Last Splash) and The Lollipops on Saturday, September 7.

Other notable performances include Local Natives, Kurt Vile, The Rosebuds performing Sade's Love Deluxe, Chatham County Line, Mikal Cronin, Marnie Stern, Mount Moriah, Night Beds, Amor de Dias, Kopecky Family Band, Nightlands and so many more. Check out the full lineup below.

Kurt Vile announces hefty 2013 tour schedule

Indie singer-songwriter Kurt Vile just released his fifth full-length album Wakin on a Pretty Daze earlier this month and he'll be hitting the road on a big world tour which will make it's way to the Triangle this summer.

Vile and his band The Violators will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Thursday, July 18. Ticket information is not available yet but we'll keep you posted. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $15.

Kurt Vile announces spring dates, coming to Durham

Singer-songwriter Kurt Vile is hitting the road again this spring for a few shows in support of his latest album Smoke Ring For My Halo and the newer companion EP So Outta Reach.

He'll play the intimate Duke Coffeehouse in Durham on Saturday, March 24. Duke Coffeehouse doesn't offer advance tickets, so you'll have to get them at the door on the day of the show.

Kurt Vile & The Violators announce summer dates, coming to Carrboro

Philadelphia singer-songwriter Kurt Vile and his band The Violators have extended their summer tour in support of their new album Smoke Ring For My Halo, released in March.

The tour will now bring the band to the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Tuesday, August 9. True Widow will open the show. Tickets are on sale now via etix for $12.

J Mascis announces solo tour with Kurt Vile, coming to Carrboro

Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis is preparing to release a new solo album titled Several Shades of Why via Sub Pop Records on March 15. He'll head out on the road on a solo tour in March with singer-songwriter Kurt Vile, who also has a new album due out on March 8 titled Smoke Ring For My Halo.

The tour will stop at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Sunday April, 10. Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, January 21 at 10 a.m. via etix for $16.
