The first performer of the 2009 North Carolina Museum of Art concert series has made it's way to Pollstar. 85-year-old bluegrass/folk legend Doc Watson will play the outdoor amphitheatre on September 26. He'll be 86 by the time the show rolls through.
Watson will also host, as he does every year, the great bluegrass/Americana festival Merlefest in Wilkesboro on April 23-26. Headliners will include Travis Tritt with Jerry Douglas, The Del McCoury Band, EmmyLou Harris and The Waybacks as well as Triangle artists Tift Merritt and Carolina Chocolate Drops. Check out the full line-up here.
