Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Vertical Horizon & Fastball join Under the Sun Tour

Just when you thought that all of the pop rock nostalgia tours one could possibly imagine had been announced, one more surfaces. This is one is dubbed the Under the Sun Tour and features Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Vertical Horizon and Fastball. This one will be heading to the Triad instead of the Triangle though.

The tour will hit the White Oak Ampitheatre in Greensboro on Thursday, August 8. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 12, via Ticketmaster for $20 to $54.50.

Smash Mouth released their sixth studio album last year, Magic. Check out some clips from the album below. Sugar Ray hasn't released an album since 2009's horribly titled Music For Cougars.

Avett Brothers keep on touring, coming to Greensboro

The Avett Brothers are still hitting the pavement hard in support of their latest album I and Love and You which was released in 2009. After finally playing the Triangle again in October 2010, the band will return to the Triad again this fall.

They'll play the new White Oak Amphitheater at the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday, October 8. A portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit the Gate City Rotary Club. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, Apri 15 at 10 a.m. for $42.50 or $37.50 plus fees via Ticketmaster.

In other band news, they recently had to reschedule some April tour dates in Texas because Scott Avett's second child being born. Congrats to him.

The Beach Boys announce tour, coming to new Greensboro amphitheater

The Beach Boys will hit the road again this year sporadically playing shows across North America and have just announced a North Carolina date.

The band will play the brand new White Oak Amphitheatre at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex on Sunday, June 5. Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday, March 25 at 10 a.m. via the coliseum box office and Ticketmaster outlets. Sleeping Booty will open the show.

The new venue will have a capacity of 7,666, with over 2,000 reserved seats and should bring more talent to central North Carolina, but will also provide more competition for the Triangle's two smaller amphitheaters.
