Lower Dens announces 'Escape From Evil' 2015 tour

Baltimore indie rockers Lower Dens will release their third full-length album on March 31 titled Escape From Evil and the band will be on the road throughout the summer touring in support of it.

Lower Dens will play Kings Barcade in Raleigh on Wednesday, August 5. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $12.

Lower Dens announces summer tour, coming to Raleigh

Baltimore indie band Lower Dens just released a new album titled Nootropics and will kick off the new North American leg of their tour in the Triangle in mid June after spending most of May and early June in Europe.

The band will return to Kings Barcade in Raleigh on Thursday, June 21. No Joy and Alan Resnick will open. Tickets are on sale now via Etix for $8.

Hopscotch 2011 Day 1: Dinosaur Feathers & Lower Dens at Kings Barcade

With only two acts to choose from in the 8:30 slot, Kings Barcade was packed for the energetic Brooklyn band Dinosaur Feathers. For a crowd that was still warming up, Dinosaur Feathers was a great way for people to dive head first into Hopscotch.

The band’s combination of world influences, dance pop and aggressive guitar playing slowly got the crowd dancing. Dinosaur Feather’s music is contagious enough, but seeing lead guitarist Greg Sullo and bassist Ryan Michael Kiley thrash about on stage makes them impossible to resist.

Wye Oak bring 'Civilian' to sold out Chapel Hill crowd

Saturday night brought the second of three Merge Records bands to Chapel Hill's Local 506 for a sold out show. Baltimore duo Wye Oak played for a packed house of fans anxious to hear songs from the group's newly released album, Civilian.

The band delivered the entire new album except its closer, "Doubt." Frontwoman Jenn Wasner was battling a cold, which left her coughing between at least one song, but that didn't keep her from delivering a killer, full-on vocal performance, telling the crowd that she's been treating her cold with whiskey.
