Vampire Weekend adds spring dates, coming to Raleigh

Indie pop superstars Vampire Weekend will be hitting the road this spring to hit some big festivals throughout the U.S., including the massive Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN. Just before heading west to Bonnaroo, the band will return to the Triangle.

Vampire Weekend will once again play the Red Hat Amphitheater (though it wasn't called that during their first show there in 2010) in Raleigh on Thursday, June 12. Cults will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 14, via the Duke Energy Center box office and Ticketmaster for $26 to $41.

The band's latest album Modern Vampires of the City made many best of 2013 lists including topping the Rolling Stone list and coming in at number nine on my own. Check out the band performing "Unbelievers" from the album on SNL last year below.

Pixies announce winter tour, coming to Durham

Alt-rock icons the Pixies are showing no sings of slowing down in the new year as they've just unveiled a hefty winter tour schedule that will finally bring the band to the Triangle (the closest they've come in recent years is Greensboro in 2011), though they're touring without Kim Deal right now. Kim Shattuck of The Muffs is their current bass player.

The band will play the Durham Performing Arts Center on Friday, January 31. Cults will open. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 11, for $45 to $55.

The Pixies just released their first new music in more than 20 years, a four-track EP dubbed EP1. Check out the music video for "Indie Cindy" from the EP below.

Cults announces new album 'Static,' fall tour

New York alt-pop band Cults will release their sophomore album Static on October 15 and they'll hit the road on a big North American tour in support of it this fall.

The band will play Motorco Music Hall in Durham on Wednesday, October 30. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, HERE for $15.

Cults announces hefty 2012 tour, coming to Carrboro

New York indie pop band Cults are hitting the road again in 2012 on a hefty North American tour in support of their self-titled debut album released in June.

The band will play the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro on Sunday, March 4 (stepping up from Local 506 which they played in March 2011). Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, December 14 via Etix for $15.
