Local folk superstars Megafaun went into hiatus mode in 2012 after touring the world in support of their self-titled album released in 2011. The band members have been working on other projects since then, but they've decided to return to activity for a short four-date tour this spring.
Before heading north for shows in Washington DC and Brooklyn, the band will play two nights, April 29 and 30, at The Pinhook in Durham. Canine Heartsounds will open on the 29th and Loamlands will open on the 30th. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketfly for $18. Get them fast because they're sure to sell out quickly.
As we mentioned last week, Megafaun drummer Joe Westerlund will release his debut solo album as Grandma Sparrow on May 20 and will also play a pair of shows in at The Pinhook on May 17 and 18.
Megafaun's collaborative album with composer Arnold Dreyblatt titled Appalachian Excitation was released last year.
